Dinner in Haifa

Hi

We will be travelling on MSC cruiseline, stopping off in Haifa in October.

We are a party of 4 women, who are looking for a restaurant for dinner, which is authentic Israeli/Middle Eastern food, that is not a tourist trap. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

If you would like inexpensive but very good Middle Eastern food, you can try Abu Yusuf near the Ford garage in downtown Haifa, the port area. It’s very informal and in a dead neighborhood at night, but offers plentiful and tasty food at a very reasonable price. It’s near the Paris Square Carmelit stop, tel. (04) 866-3723.

Enjoy your visit!

Because of the dead area, as Labatt mentioned, I would go for a much better location - the German Colony of Haifa. One of many resturants there is Fattush, serving Middle Eastern food, and having good reviews. located at Ben Gurion st. 38. Tel 972-4-8524930. Enjoy!

Much better recommendation for a one-night visit. Thank you, Giora. I keep forgetting you as a local option.

I may have to check that place out on my visit in November.

P.S. Ben-Gurion Boulevard, at the base of the Baha'i Gardens, offers SPECTACULAR views of the illuminated gardens at night -- breathtaking! That alone would be reason to take Giora I's advice.

I also agree with Giora,

The German Colony to visit in Haifa - it's the best area to be for amazing views, outdoors cafe and ambiance. There is a link to the area

Enjoy

Definitely Fatoosh is place for you, as Giora said.

They have very good hummus among other local Israeli-Arab dishes.
