is this a good place if we want to visit the old city?

We are staying in an apartment on Rochel Imainu. Is this convinient to all the sights?

It's slightly outside the city centre but a great place to stay - this street is in a lovely area near Emek Refaim st, which is full of cafes etc, and there's also a small supermarket if you prefer self-catering.

To get tho the city centre, take bus 4 or 18 from Emek Refaim St. To get to the Old City you can walk (about 30-40 mins) or take bus 18 to Jaffa St and walk from there. Taxis are readily available on the same street.

If you plan to take buses, you might want to print out this bus map before you come, as there is no "official" bus map for Jerusalem:

Avigail--that is a pretty decent map. I miss the days of Egged distributing a map! This one looks like it was made in the same style as the NYC subway maps. Lots of right angles.
