How much time for the Temple Mount?

I know an a non-Muslim, I will not be able to visit the mosque and the Dome of the Rock. So about how much time should I plan for a visit to the Temple Mount? Also, is photography permitted? Thanks!

Photography is permitted outside the shrines. Maybe an hour to an hour and a half?

If you are going by yourself an hour will be plenty of time. As you pointed out you not permitted to enter any of the buildings and therefore you visit will be limited to looking at there outsides and the archealogical finds displayed near al-Aksa. Note that the mount is accessible from 7:30-10:30 and 12:30-1:30 only (in winter).

Hello everybody,

I understood that is an Combined admission ticket of NIS 38 for Al-Aqsa Mosque, Dome of the Rock, and Islamic Museum.

So, if I understood corectly, is not permitted entering inside of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock ( only to Muslims ), but I supose is permitted entering inside of Islamic Museum.

Q:

1- It's absolutly necesary to buy the Combined admission ticket of NIS 38, if I can't visit from inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock ?

2 - Any chance to visit from inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock ?

3 - Islamic Museum is worth a visit ? What is it ?

Thank you !

Not sure what the source of your information is - it is sadly, way out of date.

There is no ticket needed to visit the Temple Mount, there is no access to either of the mosques to non-Moslems, nor is there entry allowed to any other building on the Temple Mount. The Museum has been closed for years.

You can visit the Temple Mount, walk around, see the outsides of buildings, see the general area, etc. There is no charge.

Thank you @Oreets !

<<<There is no ticket needed to visit the Temple Mount>>>

This is a good news.

<<<there is no access to either of the mosques to non-Moslems, nor is there entry allowed to any other building on the Temple Mount.>>>

This is a bad news.

Then, probably an hour will be plenty of time, as @VisitIsrael said.

As an general rules: the "summer" program start at 1 April ??

Temple Mount on April is opened until 10:30 or until 11:30 a.m. on sundays ??

There is no 'general rule" re: the Temple Mount--access, hours etc. are controlled by the Muslim WAKF and they can change it any time they want for any reason they want. Likewise they can wake up one morning and decide to close it totally to non-Muslims--and there is nothing done about it. Israel allows them total autonomy in this regard.

Very encouraging your rows @rdglady, right now I'm realy relaxed :)

When I asked: As an general rules: the "summer" program start at 1 April ??

I intended to be an general question, but I put the question between the Temple Mount issue, sorry, "ma bad" :)

So, in general for the diferent sites ( churches, temple, archeological, etc. ) in Israel, the "summer" program start at 1 April ??

I believe the Islamic Museum at the Temple Mount is no more, but the much larger Islamic Art Museum in Jerusalem is well worth a visit.

Summer time starts on 1 April at 2 a.m. this year. It is not clear if the Waqf itself considers this summer time or not to prepare for your visit accordingly.
