Hotels near Kotel for Friday night?

Advice please on best hotels within easy walking distance of Kotel, where the hotel is geared up for people wanting to go off and daven at the kotel on Shabbat and come back at strange times to eat. Many thanks.

Welcome to the Israel forum.

First of all, going off to doven Friday night at the kotel and then coming back for Shabbat Seudah is not strange, unique or different. EVERY HOTEL has guests who do this. Dinner times at hotels usually range for a 2-3 hour time period.

You do not indicate what class of hotel you want. David's Citadel, Mamilla, King David, Inbal, Dan Paorama, Leonarda Plaza ,Prima Kings, are all within a 20-30 minute walk of the Kotel and all have guests doing this all the time.

I agree with rdglady.

Shabbat dinner times in hotels in Jerusalem typically span a wide range in order to accommodate their guests' various davening arrangements.

Do you have any other criteria for selecting a hotel (budget, hecshers, etc.)?

Thanks very much both of you. That's told me exactly what I needed to know. Can either of you recommend somewhere on grounds of: rabbanut mehadrin or eida chareidis hechsher, a reasonably "shabbassy" atmosphere, plentiful and good (but not necessarily "posh") food, and mid- to high-but-not-highest- pricing?

Leonardo Plaza is Rabbanut Mehadrin - it's the only hotel in this general proximity that has a mehadrin hechsher.

I think the Plaza fits all your criteria very well.

As far as I know, the Prima Kings and Montefiere Hotels are also Mehadrin. They are only slightly further away from the Kotel than the Plaza.

There is also the Prima Palace, which caters to a haredi clientelle. Mehadrin/Badatz kashrut.

You're right the Prima Kings is also Rabbanut Mehadrin and a few hundred yards away from the Plaza.

I have been in both the Plaza and the KIngs on a Friday night. ( the Kings in the summer) There was definitely a Shabbat atmosphere. My friend who stayed there tells me it is also present on Shabbat. The Plaza is fancier and more expensive so while either will fit your criteria it is now a matter of budget and personal preference,
