Wheather

I like to visit Israel in middle of May. What the weather will be? Dry or rain? How hot or how cold? Do I need rain gear? Can I swim in ocean, dead sea?

Thanks

Rain is VERY unlikely in May. The days will be warm and occasionally hot, sunny every day. You will definitely not need rain gear.

People definitely swim in the ocean in May in beaches in Tel Aviv and up the coast. Swim only where there are lifeguards; riptides in the Mediterranean can be quite dangerous. In Eilat on the Red Sea, it will be hot, and the same is likely true at the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on Earth.

May is my favorite month to go. Enjoy yourself!

No problem swimming in the sea in May. This year the temperatures were warmer than usual around the Mediterranean basin so the water is not too cold. The Dead is also no problem as the water has an almost constant temperature and air temperature will ve very warm or even hot(90's) by your visit. Bring sandles, water shoes and sunscreen for your visit.
