Tel Aviv to Eilat flights

I've been looking into booking a flight from Tel Aviv to Eilat on 29/4/11, but am not coming up with anything on Israir or Arkia. Is it too early to book such flights, or is there a problem with Passover? Also, it seems that at least some of the flights leave from "Sde Dov" airport. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza due to its easy rail connections to Ben Gurion. Would it be easy to get from the CP to Sde Dov by taxicab or some other way (not too far?)? Are the security procedures perhaps a little easier at Sde Dov? If I cannot find a flight, what could we expect in terms of price and time needed to hire a driver to take us to Eilat?

Couldn't find with Arkia... But ELAL has a flight costs 149 NIS one way.

I doubt if you will find anything cheaper than that... www.elal.co.il

ELAL flights leave from Ben Gurion airport Terminal 1.

Israir has 4 flights from Sde Dov and one flight from Ben Gurion on that day,

You should have no problem taking a taxi from CP to Sde Dov.

Flights from Ben Gurion leave from Termina1 , which is not where the tran stop. You'll have to go by shuttle to the other terminal.

And finally - El Al has one flight to Eilat on that day (8:30 AM) and the low rate is still available.

It is a bit early to book a flight from Tel Aviv to Eilat for April. Wait until after 1 January when the fares are published for those dates and all of the flights are updated in the systems (or contact a travel agent in your home town who may be able to attain information for you). As posted there are three companies El Al, Arkia and Israir, all with competative prices. El Al flies only to Ben Gurion whereas the other two fly also to Sde Dov. In general flights to Sde Dov are more expensive. Prices are always for one-way and include tax.

Don't know if it's your case but it is now possible to book flights on El Al directly from any point of departure to Eilat with transfer in Ben Gurion.

Inasmuch as El Al has an inexpensive flight, I'd book it now. Rather than worry about a cab to Sde Dov you can take the train and then the shuttle.

If prices run about the same (they usually do), book the flight from Sde Dov instead of Ben Gurion. It's a smaller, faster airport that's only 5-10 minutes by cab from your hotel.

In general prices for flights from Sde Dov are more expensive to Eilat than from Ben Gurion. On the other hand there are generally earlier and later flights from/to Sde Dov.

The OP is staying at the Crowne Plaza which is right next to the train Station. They picked that hotel because of its' proximity to the train. The train cost 14NIS per person and is 16 minutes from the airport. (Ben Gurion)

The train is indeed 16 minutes but it stops only in terminal 3.

They'll have to take the shuttle to Terminal 1 where the flights to Eilat departs from.
