The weather is generally mild to cool with a possibility of some rain showers. All in all, the weather is pretty good then.

When asking about a tour it's important to know your reasons for going to Israel. Many people go to learn about the region as it pertains to their religion and are more focused on the aspects of their country in that regard. Still others go for the historical aspect of the country (religion goes along with that also) or for things like beaches or archaeology.

So...which category are you in?

We just toured Israel and Jordan with Tauck Tours. It was fantastic!! They use local guides in each area and in Jerusalem divided the group so there were just 14 of us with our own guide. We usually had free time each day after 3:30 or so to do what we wanted. A lot of meals were included and for the dinners we had choices of several restaurants and could order anything we wanted off the regular menu.

We never felt like we were being "herded" in a large group.

rgdlady,

The tour covered all aspects. Historical, religion, a day to be pampered at the Dead Sea ,etc.

It didn't focus on any one religion but rather visited Christian, Jewish, and Muslim sights.

You can see the itninery here:

tauck.com/tours/…israel-travel-ij-2011.aspx

They even had a "prophet sharing" session one evening where they had a Christian Arab, a Muslim Arab, a Jewish person, and a person of the Baha'i faith all explain their religions and beliefs to us.

The entire trip was so incredibly educational and enlightening!!!

Douglas,

Thank YOU!!

We arrived in Tel Aviv two days before the tour began and your wonderful guide was chocked full of information that helped us decide what to do in our free time! I can't even imagine how long it took you to put that together!

Aw, you're very welcome. It's been an evolving work over more than ten years. In fact, I just added some information on the Zionist movement to the cultural tips section on the Jewish populaiton, so now it's up to 49 pages. :-)
