a day trip from the Dead Sea to Jerash is do-able.

driving distance is around 100k's, driving time will be around 1hr 40min.

that is an easy and pleasant trip, with plenty of time to visit the site, have lunch and be back at the Dead Sea before sunset......

thanks for your quick reply!

one more thing!if you remember in my previous posts about amman airport...do we get a visa in amman airport or in aqaba airport(cause after 2 hours in amman airport we fly to aqaba the same day).

what exactly is asez visa?it means that we can't go anywhere to aqaba if we don't have a visa like that?

duty free zone is all of aqaba or certain parts/shops?

thank you again!

once you obtain a visa at Queen Alia Airport, that will cover you for the whole of Jordan.

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone (asez) is part of Jordan, and is only there to attract new business and investors into the Kingdom.

flying from Amman into Aqaba, will be a normal internal flight, no visa's or customs checks.

the baptism site is within the Dead Sea area,, it should not take you more than 30 min. to get there from the hotels area at the Dead Sea.
