Stops enroute to Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and deadsea

We'll be driving from Amman int airport to Petra the first day and are looking for a place to stop for lunch enroute. Any recommendations on where we could stop? Similarly any stops worth stopping enroute between Petra - Wadi Rum and the Aqaba - Deadsea. (will be self driving)

Thanks

Counting the days...only 9 to go!

Hi Miki,

Welcome to Jordan,

From Amman int airport to Petra: Try "Petra tourist complex" in ( Al- Qatrana ). 65km south Amman int airport.

Wadi Rum only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Petra and the obvious place is the Wadi Rum resthouse "in Wadi Rum village ". Lunch and supper are a buffet, quite generously supplied and well cooked.

From Aqaba to Dead Sea drive via "Wadi Araba road", huge desert valley flanked by high mountains. ( where you will enjoy the sand dunes ) and the costal between Jordan an Israel, where peace signed in 1995.

The journey between Aqaba and Dead Sea takes approximately 3 hours so if you leave Aqaba at lunchtime have your lunch there, or at Dead Sea because no restaurants on your way.

Enjoy

As you can see from the answer Jordan Beauty Tours posted, there is not too much between places. But the distances are not that bad, plan your transfers so that you can have lunch before leaving or upon arrival somewhere. Enjoy your stay !

Actually, on the way from Aqaba to the Dead Sea, there is a place called Beir Madhkour (perhaps with a different spelling) There is a resthouse there where you can order toasted sandwiches, but the service is very slow, and their command of English is not too good.
