eilat to petra

Theres will be 3 of us visiting Israel next month and wanted to add Petra to the vacation.

1) there will be 1 american and 2 brazilians. Do we need visas?

2)we will have a rent a car, is eilat the best way to get to the border? Then once we do is it expensive for a cab and how far is it from the border?

3)is it easy to exlore if we visit alone?

Any help would be great

Thank you!

Welcome to Jordan,

- No need visa

- The border not far from Eilat (Approx 7 minutes)

- Taxi from the border to Petra. Approx 2hrs. 55-60JOD

- There are no difficulties, and it is very easy

Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any inquiry

Enjoy

Thats wonderful!! Thank you! Is it safe to leave the rent a car at the border?

We mainly would like to see the monastrry. Thats easy to find right?

So from eilat to the monastery should be approx 2 hours? Tops 2 1/2?

You welcome,

Yes, it is safe to leave the rental car at the border.

From the border to Petra visitor center approx 2hrs.

It is very easy to find the Monastery. But on your way to the Monastery you will visit: The Siq, Treasury, Street of Façade, Theatre, Royal tombs, City center, Qasr al Bint temple, Museums Al Habees and Archeological!! Then to Monastery "Al Deir"

Enjoy

By helicopter perhaps! Drive from Aqaba: at least an hour, walking to the monastery from entrance: at least 2 hours.

Ali did say from the border to Petra Visitors' Centre 2 hours. Then from the entrance to Petra, even if you directly to the Monastery, passing everything to see on the way back, you will need at least another 2 hours.
