Family travel 9 days in December/January or Apri (Easter)

I am planning where to go for the Christmas holidays. We are a family with 2 teenage kids and are bound to travel during school holidays in Europe.

Am considering Jordan. However, it seems that the weather may not be ideal for everything - sightseeing, desert camping and hiking (Wadi Rum), swimming in the Dead Sea and in Aqaba....

Would beginning of April be more optimal ? During the Easter time ?

Thank <ou very much for your advice.

April Easter is the best time of year to visit Jordan. It is also the busiest time and most expensive keep that in mind

.You could pay a third more than visiting in Jan.In Dec Xmas time is also busy and costly to visit

it is a matter of demand and supply where price fluctuates

cheers

Weather wise January or December are far from ideal, chances of rain or snow, sites and roads being closed because of it and unless you're an ice bear swimming is not very pleasant. If you can then choose April. have a great time !

Thank you very much Patricia and Raymond for your advice.

As I mentioned, we are bound to travel during school holidays time as we have two school kids. We are aware that prices for everything are more expensive during these periods.

@ Patricia, do you think April is ideal for swimming, desert camping and yet not too hot for hiking and sightseeing ?

Thanks a lot.

Yes absolutely, April is very nice. Average day temperatures are between 15 and 25 degrees, depending on the area. Nights are still nice and cool. Another advantage is that it will be nice and green with lots of flowers after the winter rain.

Thank you very much.

You helped me to make the decision of not going to Jordan in the coming Christmas/New Year, but in Easter. Now, I have to think about where to go for Christmas/New Year for pleasant weather but yet not too far from Europe.:-)))

Thanks a lot.
