ATMs in Muscat and Nizwa

We are going to need lots of cash while we are in Oman, because none of the hotels we have booked accepts credit cards. We will be in Muscat, Ras al Jinz, Wahabi Desert and Nizwa. We would like to stock up on cash in Muscat and Nizwa. What's the ATM situation like? Are there many and is there always enough money in them or will this cash-on-arrival thing turn out to be a major challenge?

Thank you

Most gas stations in Oman have a choice of ATMs for the various banks. The City Center malls (in Al Qurum and Seeb) have at least 1 ATM for each bank. In addition, there are individual ATMs scattered across the city, it is never an issue. Nizwa won't have as many, but I can assure you that there is no shortage.

Wahiba may have fewer, seeing as it is a desert. Might want to get some cash before heading in.

The question would be: Do all these ATM's accept European Cards?
