I recommend taking a couple of minutes to search around on this forum. There should be a lot of information on things to do on a short holiday in Oman. Let us know if you have any specific questions about things that you find.

Hi there ,,,

You have 2 days olny since you will arrive Friday Night. Anyhow, you can do the following;

Day1- Saturday: Hire a car and leave Muscat early in the morning, head to Nizwa and visit Nizwa Souk, walk around, talk with locals. Around the Souk you will see Nizwa Mousque and Nizwa Fort (Built on 1668AD, but better to save your time for Bahla fort). Visit Falaj Dares (a World Heritage Site).

Head to Bahla (around 40 KM from Nizwa). Visit Bahla fort, which beleived it has been built pre Islamic time and it's included on UNESCO's list of World Heritage site (You will need 2-3 hours here). Near the fort there is a mousque called Jame' Mousque and it considered the oldest in Oman so far. Check out Bahla Oasis Wall as it goes for 7 miles and according to Wikipedia in Arabic its consdiered as one of the most beautiful walled cities in the world after Croatia and France from the defensive desgin. Once you are done, try to find the Pottery factory. It's located on the same line with Sultan Qaboos Mousque (around 1-3KM is the distance between them as i remmber). You can also check the Sultan Qaboos Mousque from Outside. Back to Muscat and have your dinner at Karjeen.

Day2-Sunday: Take a tour around the capital, Muttrah Cornish, Muttrah Souk, Muscat old town and Al Alam Palace, Bustan Area, Opera House, Grand Mosque (open for toursit in the morning). Visit Shati Al Qurum Beach and have a walk. Take your lunch in Bin Ateeq in Al Khuwair area and try some local food there.

Remark; Best way is to rent a car from the airport if you can drive.

Regards,

Day1: Leave Muscat in the morning, Head to Quarrayat Side. Stop at Sink Hole (Locally known as Hawyyat Najem) spend like half an hour here. Continue your way to Wadi Shab and spend around 3-4 hours walking around and swimming. From here drive to Sur and stop by Qalhat, check out :Bibi Maryam" tomb. Take around in Sur and back to Muscat.

Day2: Nizwa and Bahla.

Day3: Muscat.
