Holiday cash

Hi, is it best to get tour dirhams before you travel,.

or is the exchange rate better in Abu Dhabi. Are there plenty of places to change money over there. Many thanks.

The exchange rate will be better in AD than at home and there are plenty of places to exchange - just don't do it in your hotel, they always give poor rates.

What Kali said.

I'd bring a hundred pounds worth of Dirhams, or withdraw some from an ATM at the airport, to get you going for taxis, etc.

You can then compare rates at the many exchange outlets in every mall, and change more as you need to. My local (Lulu) charges 2 dirhams commission ... that's 32p.

Cards are of course accepted everywhere but you might want to check with your bank for charges and rates, and limit use to larger purchases.

Where are you staying ?

The hotel's website has downloadable menus for all of the restaurants and bars. Not sure about brunch prices; I'd guess 200-300 depending on whether you want alcohol included.

You're very close to Yas Island, so there are many other options for eating out a short, cheap taxi ride away. And the city isn't that much further; maybe 30 mins.
