Taxi Precautions in Cartagena

Hello! We are looking forward to our upcoming trip to Cartagena. Are there any precautions to take when hailing a taxi in the city? Are there any "official" cabs that should be taken all of the time? What about getting a taxi at the airport? Thank you in advance for answering these questions!

at night if you are at retaurant or club i would have them call you a taxi if your spanish is lacking,

I have never had a problem with hailing one in the street but at night in a new city and not speaking the lingo you might be advised to call one

The only reason to call a taxi in Cartagena is if you're in a location where they're not readily available on the street. Which is pretty much nowhere that a tourist would normally go.

I just took taxi from/to the airport. Fixed 10.000 COP each way (to/from ciudad amurallada).
