Hi. From what I've read, it appears the weather is tropical year-round in Samoa, is that correct? I'm just wondering if the water temp will be warm enough to swim in during June/July.
Hi
The water's warm enough to swim all year around. June/July are in the middle of the dry season so you'll get less humidity so it's a very pleasant time of year to visit

Thanks, Deb! You're awesome! I have appreciated your feedback.
You're welcome Darren. Enjoy your holiday

I am traveling to Samoa this June/July, and am curious as to what I need to see and do. I've been looking online (rather obsessively), and I just want to make sure I'm doing things that the locals do as well. I don't want to just be another tourist, and do what the internet tells me I should do. I'd much rather live like a local, and experience the culture in a way that I can appreciate and respect it!! I love to backpack, explore, I am quite active, and am always up to try new things! Any suggestions or ideas??
Hi Larissa
The best person you want to get in contact with would be Tai. He is a village chief with great command of English and you can get an idea by visiting his facebook page Tai's Native Experience and read every review on there.

Hi Larissa
Have you booked your accommodation yet?
One of the best ways of experiencing how the locals live is by staying in fale accommodation. You'll be living in a village and free to wander around, get to know the villagers, their kids etc.
Check out Taufua Beach Fales on Upolu and Tanu Beach Fales on Savaii for example. You're also much more likely to run into like minded travellers when staying in fales.
Cheers
Deb
Thank you so much, I'll be sure to do that!
