Can anyone tell me what is the daily cost to hire a car and is there a bus from the airport at about 10pm at night to Apia area
Car rental prices depend on what time of year you're going, if it's high season May to end September, then you're looking at 120+ tala a day, in the low October to April about 100 or less a day. The cost reduces the longer you take the car. If you do intend on getting one from the airport you'll have to pre-book it. The most reputable companies are Blue Pacific Car Hire, Samoana Car Rentals, AA Hire Cars, Island Rento and Go Rentals.
A shuttle bus to all hotels in Apia meets every arrival. It's 25 tala per person, a taxi would cost 70 tala.
Hope this helps
Just don't rent a car from funway rental. One of the big scam arthist in the island.
and holiday rentals were a bit annoying ( I felt they were just out to try and make any excuse to get us to pay the excess,) plus they gave us a van with no air con !
We rented with AA Rent a Car and found them great. For a weeks hire it was $120 tala a day, plus $65 to drop it off at the airport (they met us there right at arrivals and were waiting when we arrived). The guy we dealt with (Charlie?) was lovely. We met some people who decided to get a car for a few days while over there, they used the same company and got the same deal $120 a day, even though they only wanted it a few days, but this might not be worth the risk if you were going at a busy time.
