I have just been to the Myanmar Embassy in Charles Street, London. Here is the up to date position:

1. Visa on Arrival - gone for the time being.

2. Visa applications to be made by one form (available on Internet) with two passport sized photos per applicant.

3. The applications all take 2 weeks, and they refuse to expedite them.

4. The fee is £14 per applicant.

5. Embassy open 10am-1pm.

6. Absolutely no queues when I went at 10am on Monday.

7. For the avoidance of doubt, the do keep your passports for 2 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update... It's usually 5-days from sending the application off & having it returned, please post back though if it's taking any longer, it's the high season so it maybe taking a little longer than usual.

LONDON VISA UPDATE

The Embassy received my passports on Wednesday 24th November.

As I was in London today I called in at 11.15 to collect them. There was a queue of a dozen people and as they were so busy I was asked to call back at 3pm and they "would try to get them ready". I could not take the chance of them being delayed in the Christmas post so I agreed to do so.

Whilst in the queue I heard comments-one lady handed her application in and was told to collect it at 3pm on 21st December - 14 days time. Another was told the background colour of the photographs was coloured and that she would have come back with new photos with a white background.

I must admit I was a bit worried when I called in at 3.15pm but there was no queue and the lady from the back office had them ready and insisted I check them all before I left.

Note all all have todays date on them so they were probably done in the few hours between my visits.

One photo is incorporated in the Visa, the other stapled on the first page.
