Myanmar visa!!

I have written to the embassy in London and requested visa application forms - enclosed sae - but no reply

Any suggestions?

Should I try again?

Are the application forms weighty - ie have I not enclosed a large enough return envelope.

If I can get a contact in London will they be able to go in and collect the forms with relative ease?

Any advice much appreciated

As mgx says-the link has everything you need to know.

The Visa is a one page A4 but if you read the link you can download them.

Many, many answers to queries like yours are in top questions, toolbar right.

The visa process is pretty straightforward. We recently went through the process itself - applying by person at the London Embassy in 19A Charles Street, Mayfair (nearest tube Green Park station).

As of Nov 2011 - for a tourist visa:

1. Download the visa application form from the website (as per post #36)

2. 1 form and 2 passport sized photographs per applicant.

3. £14 visa fee per applicant. I brought the exact change in cash.

4. Visa processing time took 1 week.

5. Visa was valid for 3 months from date of issue for a stay not exceeding 28 days.

I wasn't asked to provide any evidence of plane tickets or hotel bookings when I applied.

Hope this is useful information for anyone seeking to travel there soon.

Thanks for your help and advice

We are in Devon but I think the best route might be to get someone to present our applications at the embassy personally

Thanks again

I sent my application by post, enclosing;

2 x completed application form, each with a passport photo glued to appropriate place on form

1 sae

cheque for £14

my passport

I took everything to the post office and paid £10.80 (£5.40 x2) for registered post. They put the appropriate stamps, etc. on each envelope and then everything gets tracked both ways.

I was able to see that the embassy received my envelope on 1/11 and the sae was posted by them pm on 9/11, delivered to mine 11/11 - I actually picked up and signed for at post office 12/11. Job done. It took a further two weeks before the cheque was banked.

All good. No hassles. No trip to London.
