how much time to book internal flights

Hi, I will be in Myanmar in 3 wks. Want to fly YGN-BGN & then BGN -Inle lake & then back to YGN. (Just 1 week trip). Can I arrive in YGN & then book all these flights? Is it more expensive if I try to get the flights a couple of days before I fly?

thanks

Hi Jobmc

You can arrange arriving in Yangon to book all these internal flight, It it better by bus to visit YGN to Bagan. It is cheaper. Bagan to Inle lake by flight. and then back to Yangon by bus or flight.

welcome to Myanmar.....

Bus is cheaper but how about duration and comfort (I am a tall farang)? I'm thinking about doing same basic thing as the jobmc: fly between Yangon and Bagan and later from Heho back to Yangon. I don't mind the bus but I'm no spring chicken anymore and do not recover so quickly from those LONG uncomfortable bus rides the way I once did. Considering wait time at the airport, etc, how much more time would the bus be to Bagan? I do care about the money but not if it means a cramped 12 hour slog on a rattletrap bus. Thanks.

One Week in June, it means you should leave for Bagan as soon as possible and do Yangon sightseeing at last. June is rainy season and the flight may be delayed or cancelled due to the bad weather. Keeping one spare day at Yangon feel secure about missing your international flight.

I would recommend advance booking for the following reason.

1. Booking directly to the airlines or booking through an agent, The price is almost the same.

2. No domestic airline offer promotion rate for advance booking. Always the same. Just depends on the agent.

3. I have no idea with your arrival day and arrival flight. If you are going to arrive in the evening or in the weekend, you have to stay in Yangon another day, just to arrange the tickets.

4. You don't need to worry about that, if you book through an agent. They'll come and meet you on your arrival and deliver the tickets. Just add messenger fees.

So it might be more expensive, but less hassle.

Have a nice visit.

I don't think you need to book too much in advance, it is rainy season and there are not so many tourists out there.
