Pretty stupid questions I know, but...

If we're sending in 2 passports and applications can we get one money order for $40 or should we get separate ones for $20 each?

If we're sending a return FedEx label do we also need to send a FedEx envelope for them to use - I guess I would send one of the cardboard ones with return label and ship it out in a bigger tyvek FedEx envelope.

I was told by our tour company that now they require 3 passport size photos for each visa app. not 2. I don't see that anywhere on the embassy website but I guess to avoid any possible holdup in processing we'll go ahead and send 3.

Just to make sure - it sounds like each is only $20 - there's no service fee on top of that if you go directly through the embassy?

Thanks for any advice.

Posted on a separate thread today

"I just received my visa from the Myanmar Embassy in Washington and it took only a week from when I sent my application via overnight mail to when I received them back via Priority Mail to Cambridge MA (one each for my husband and me) - so service is very quick!"

I had to go to a "special photographer" for the passport photos for Myanmar since they are of a different size from US or Canadian passport photos. Those 2 mug shots cost &35.00. I took them to a 1 hour photo place & made 2 extra copies for 25 cents. I always take extra passport photos w/me along w/a color copy of the 1st page of my passport for the worst case scenario. I mailed priority mail w/a stamped priority envelope inside, addressed to me. I expect to receive my paperwork within the next week. The fee was $20.00 which I got thru my bank; cashier's check w/notation "Myanmar Embassy, tourist visa, my name". They do answer the phone at the Embassy in Washington D.C. except during lunch hour when you get an answering machine. remember to make your work history very innocuous; restaurateur, office worker, clerk...not writer, photographer, blogger!

I used photos that we had taken at CVS, they were the size used for US passports and they were fine. I used separate money orders for our two applications and included two return USPS priority envelopes with postage affixed. Had them both back in under a week.

Yes, I also used regular sized passport photos and didn't pay extra for the different size. I think I snipped a tiny bit off each side so they'd fit the size specified on the application.
