My husband and I have just returned from a nice and amazing 4 weeks in Myanmar. We are Slovenian couple in mid fifties, fit and adventurous and we usually travel independently, but for Myanmar we quickly realised the importance of having a local travel agent and selected one from these forums.
We booked accommodation, all internal flights, the boat trip and transfers with OneStop Myanmar, Mr. Kyaw give us most interesting offerr, including hot air baloon festival.....and all time he's been very responsive and helpful in our questions and changes in plans.
We had 4 days in Inle Lake, Mandalay, BaganInle Lake and 3 days in Yangon and 8 days in Ngapali. In each place we have organised car with driver and with local guide. All time hotels was OK, especially Paramount at Inle Lake, Amazing Bagan and Amazing Ngapali.
We really dont have problem with money changing, and for people from Europe, I think that is much better to take Euros, in all places we can change Euros in Kyatts in normal rate.
If we go back next time, we will spent one or two day more in Bagan, for independent exploring, and two days less on beach, it was absolutely nice, but after 5-6 days we began to slowly bore.
Shopping options in Yangon are not so nice, like we read before. We found the more shopping options in Bagan and in Mandalay. We bought lacquerware in Bagan, and nice pupets in Mandalay.
We enjoyed nice 4 weeks in Myanmar, and must say again thank you Mr. Kyaw.
