Myanmar visa

Running out of time. Has anyone used a Myanmar visa service to obtain an e-visa, that you collect on arrival.

When do you go? Are you in Bangkok for a few days before hand?

Someone on the board recently posted that they did this but they urged others to get it beforehand if possible as it required a long wait at the airport.

How much time do you have? Turnaround from sending in your visa to receiving it back is currently looking around 2 weeks. It is a relatively straight forward process. See the thread below:

No need. Visa on arrival for everyone these days.

Just have 6 months validity in your passport and evidence of hotels, and onwards flight.

We went to London to get ours an we received it back within 10 days with express post

We know a couple in Perth who had delays with Xmas but they knew people in Canberra who went down for them to the overworked embassy staff it still took 7 days with express mail - having waited from late November '12 - but they now have it with 6 days to spare before deoarture

Suggest allow 6/8 weeks and Express mail both ways on SAE

Clackers is incorrect.

Business travellers from a small list of countries can get a VOA. Details here: http://www.mip.gov.mm/visaonarrival/

Tourists must still apply for a visa. There's plenty of good information in the Top Questions on the right of this page.
