Restaurant Choices In Seoul

Greetings

We shall be visiting Seoul in August and will have six nights in the city. We always eat only local cuisine when we travel and like to get as large a variety of cuisine as possible. Here are five resaurants that we are considering:

Royal Cuisine: Hanmiri

Temple Food--Samchon

Galbi--Bonsuwon Galbi (in Suwon)

Samgyetang --Tosokchon

Traditional Korean-- Jirisan

Mandu and kal guksu--Myeongdong Gyoja

I would welcome your opinion on these choices--both in terns of the specific restarants and also the categories of food (I know I have not listed a seafood restuarant but my travel companion does not eat fish).

Thanks!

SeoulHyena, the photo of Hanmiri' menu looks interesting- how many person per set as I don't think 1 person can finish all of those wonderful foods?

The restaurant says that it is 4-person-set in the pictures. The prices quoted in its homepage are prices per person(exclusive tax). You can order from 2-person-set. They say you better make a reservation before you go. I can feel they are focusing on foreign customers, too.

Read a messege from the restaurant.(bottom of the text)

I think you misspelled the name of name of temple cuisine restaurant. It's "Sanchon" located in Insa-dong. Myeongdoneg Gyoza is famous but I had better noodle and dumpling at the small restaurant in Insa-dong. Sorry the name escapes me, but it is next to "Ssamjigil" shopping center. Also check this food blog written by ex-pat live in Korea.

It is located at 2nd floor of Premier Place which is right next to Cheonggye Plaza(which is starting point of Cheonggyecheon stream).

It is walking distance from IBIS Myeongdong.

At 1st floor, there is a Tom N Toms coffe shop.

At google map or google earth input the coordinates(latitude, longitude).

37°34'7.82"N, 126°58'41.65"E (Hanmiri)

37°33'53.11"N, 126°58'58.12"E (IBIS)

do any of these place serve the traditional dog dish? I think it's prepared like bulgoki but apparently it is becoming harder and harder to come by as it offends some sensibilities.
