Lotte Department Store - department store (the clue's in the name!) Homeplus/Emart - supermarkets/hypermarkets (although they also have small neighbourhood convenience stores).

Lotte Department Stores tend to be more expensive than Emart and Homeplus as they concentrate more on designer/luxury goods. They have small food departments. Emart and Homeplus have large food departments plus clothes/electronics/sports goods etc. Emart is a Korean company, but Homeplus is owned by the British supermarket chain, Tesco. I find Emart and Homeplus comparable in price.

Lotte also has a supermarket called Lotte Mart, although these tend to be smaller in size than Emart and Homeplus. Emart has also branched out into discount stores called Emart Traders to try and compete with Costco.
