Fridays in Cairo

I read somewhere that Friday is a holy day in Cairo and most things are closed. I am going for 5 days in april including a friday and was wondering how much this would affect my trip? I am going on an organised pyramid excursion on the saturday so i assume that is fine but was hoping to go riding with FB stables on the friday.

Thanks for advice in advance.

1. Re: Fridays in Cairo

Fridays are the best days for tours, as the traffic is not busy, and most of the tourist places if not all remain open and never close, on Fridays it is noticed that some of the supermarkets and shops close in the morning and open in the afternoon, and that will never affect tours.

For tourist they should pray for all days to be Fridays for them in Egypt.

lol ;0 Boss is so right! I have been to Cairo on a friday and a tuesday. Friday is a picnic compared to tuesday.

You should have no problems with your trip whatsoever. Hope you have a great holiday.
