we upgraded to a partial Nile View, as the cost of a full view was a bit OTT, and as we were planning to go on a mini cruise, it did not warrant the extra cost,
24 euros for Nile view, per day and 16 for a partial.
I must admid to being very satisfied with the view, we could see down the Corniche and the roundabout provided hours of entertainment, which started almost immediatly upon our first venture out to the balcony. One of the street lights just outside started smoking, the police were just below it, we started to shout to them, but they were so embroiled in their own conversation they paid us no heed, They certainly can jump a great height from a standing start, when the cupola came loose and fell at their feet, no one was injured and strangely enough, all this time the light continued to work.
Then the escaped horse coming to the fountain to drink while its handler is chasing round and round trying to recapture the recaltriant beast, then a few road blocks, while the local bobbies tried, sometimes successfully to catch the locals with unregistered motorbikes or no licences, so yes, a very good room.
The staff, faultless to a tee, from first light to last, always polite, willing to share a joke and with a ready smile, from the breakfast waiter, who tells you he loves his job and it it his job, no empty cups while he is about, the waiter and chef in the Italian restaurant, giving each other the thumbs up or down.
Only downside or two is, 1 the long wait if you order lunch or snacks poolside, they have to be delivered from the main kithchen, so if you fancy a snack, order in plenty of time.
Internet, it's rather absurd in this day and gae, when you are trying to generate business, that the internet and wifi changes in the hotel are so high, in our case 15 euros per day, time to wake up guys, the tourist industry in Egypt and Luxor in particular is in decline, you want more customers, then do something to entice them in, exhorbidant rates for wifi will chase them to JV or some other hotel that has it.
Driinks etc, well they are on a par with what you would expect to pay outside, about double, 10 to 12 LE for a beer in a cafe 25le in the hotel. I can live with that.
Rooms were always made up very nice and promply too, the staff are certainly on the ball.
Pool is ok, it's nice to watch the river traffic as you are lying there, not so many cruise boats to bother the stability.
Gardens are well kept and it is a pleasure to sit there in the evening after the sun has gone down.
Noise wasnt as great a problem as we thought it might have been, it didn't stop us sleeping at all.
Would we go back? In a heartbeat
