Change to UK FCO travel advice

I've just checked an alert on my phone and it looks like the travel advice for Luxor has changed - it now appears in a green area on the FCO map, so it's looking like good news folks!! I'm off to have a proper look at what the FCO advice says.

Here's the ink

Yes, I wonder just how long it will take the travel companies and airlines to get back on track? But at least there should be no insurance issues now, which is good news.

Thomson have availability from LGW to Luxor from March 2014. I doubt much will change before then. Hopefully Egyptair will resume the direct flight at least.

Yay!! Hoping some Brit tourists will be around in December :-)

Is Xmas new year a popular time? If so the airlines and tour companies might move a bit quicker..

Sorry for Nefertari who is stuck behind without insurance. (hug). Aust only splits Egypt into Sinai and rest. Fingers crossed they refine it....

We got our insurance before the advice went orange so we are ok, and always planned to do no more than transit Cairo. We even looked at a direct flight into Luxor, which was via Doha. It might be worth a discussion with an insurer..
