Which hotel is best for relaxing?

Hi

I am going to luxor end of feb but would like a hotel which has a big pool and nice sunbathing area because I want to mainly go here for relaxing but have the odd morning sightseeing.

I have been looking at Sheraton, Le meridien, Mercure Inn, Pyramisa isis and Sonesta st george.

Can anyone please reccomend me a hotel?

Thanks

I stay at the Jolie Ville Movenpick and find it very relaxing...two pools- one adult and one infinity pool. The infinity pool is fantastic.. look at the hotel via their site at ............................

lots of space around the pool and beautiful gardens(24 acres) all overlooking the Nile....

Thanks for the reply Kazl but that one seems to be a bit out of my price range, I did look at that one before.

Does anyone know which hotel is the most relaxing out of these hotels: Sheraton, Le meridien, Mercure Inn, Pyramisa isis and Sonesta st george.

Thanks again

i been to the Sheraton, it have a nice pool , not very big, but it is just near to the banks of the river and it have a wonderful view, but its rooms are not very wide but they are nice

Also hotel Meridien is fantastic, in my point of view it is one of the best in Luxor that you mentioned, i would recomend it more really, have nice pool and very beautiful gardens around , wonderful food in its restaurant as well

have a nice trip

Just back from Nile Palace (Le Meridien) - relaxation specialists. Lovely pool, food - a haven in chaotic Luxor.

I felt the sonesta to be a bit pretentious.

Hi

I dont know when you are planning to book but if it helps we will be staying at the Isis this forthcoming Wednesday for a week will post the results as soon as i return. The recent reviews have been at best mixed, great pool but bland food tends to be the verdict currently...thats why we are taking the b&b option as we know there are some great restaurants very close by. The price we are paying here does also reflect its status amongst other 5 star hotels in the vicinity...its considerably cheaper than most !!!

Hi rcrutchley,

Normally, I would recommend the Sonesta St George as we stayed there in August 2006, and loved everything about it - staff, rooms, pool, restaurants, food, cleanliness etc. However, there is a post a little further down that says at the moment they are building a new deck and that the pontoon, restaurant etc is affected. Hope this helps.

just back from the sonesta on wednesday work is probably finished by now. it was no big deal.this is my third time to the sonesta and it is the best relaxing holiday we have ever been on. my advise would be to stay here.i wonder what your budget is. try going to alpharooms.com and you will get great rates for all hotels in luxor. the sonesta in my opinion is the best and cheapest on this site. i paid £260 for a week for one double room with breakfast. if you need any more help just ask.
