Amboseli & Nakuru fees up already?

Can anyone confirm this story from experience on the ground this week?

www.eturbonews.com/25048/kenya-park-fees-rise

I thought the $80 per 24 hours for Lake Nakuru NP and Amboseli NP was only provisionally set for 2012, not any time this year. And not definite.

Can anyone who's paid to enter either park this week, let the forum know.

Thanks!

Richard

Dear Richard

I can confirm that Park entry fees went up as from 1st March this year to $75 Per person for Premium parks which Nakuru and Amboseli happen to fall under. I doubt there will be another increase in 2012, that will be killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

Hope this helps

Hi,

also some rumours here in Germany and today an article in an austrian newspaper, that it is planned to rise the fees, but the named date is the 1st january 2012. But found nothing official about this.

80 US-$ per person for Nakuru and Amboseli and 65 US-$ for the Tsavos - no more difference in high and low season.

Bye

Chrissy

I have recently been told that the rules have changed for the entrance fees to Tsavo and that instead of paying per 24 hours it's now pay each time you enter. Travelling through East to West and back again will cost $360 over three days for 2 people.

How much would it have cost if we stayed in East for the full 3 days ?

Hi,

as you can see, Tsavo Parks in high season - the rates per person per 24 hours are 60 US-$ - so 3 full days mean 3 x 60 = 180 US-$ per person - so no difference in the amount you mentioned - only if you stay in the Tsavo East for only 2 x 24 hours....

Bye

I haven't seen any change in fees for Nakuru or Amboseli thru end-2011. Nor any "yet" for 2012, but this can change.

Hi Richard,

The park fee is still at Usd 75 so far, just paid for some clients a while ago. Nothing official about the increment,at least for now here on the ground.
