Getting a Visa on arrival overland from Uganda

Is there any problem getting the Kenyan visa at the border? My tour company says its easy. The consulate in Los Angeles suggested getting it in advance. Thank you.

I also saw a post about the Kenya, Uganda Rwanda 3-in-1. Any news on that?

You can easily get your Kenyan visa when you reach the border crossing. A quick form to fill out and US$50 in cash (post-2006 bills). The visa entitles you to 3 months so if you want the whole 3 months make sure you tell the immigration agent and he/she marks it on your visa with a pen.

For some strange reason, the embassies advise you to get a visa in advance but in the case of an American visiting Kenya as a tourist, it is not necessary.

There is still no sign of the three-country visa, which was supposed to begin January 1, 2014. Don't hold your breath:
