We sent off the correct money as stated on the Kenyan Embassey web site for 2 visa's paying by postal order (they won't accept cheques or credit cards for some reason)
After nearly 3 weeks of not receiving anything, we called them up & were told we needed to send another £20 since the figure quoted on the web site was incorrect.
This we did - again by postal order - by which time I needed my passport urgently returning for a business trip.
After another week of not receiving anything, we called again to be told they had not received anything! We contacted the Post Office, since it was sent recorded delivery & they confirmed they had a signature for receipt.
This was not enough for the Kenyan Embassy so we had to duly send another £20.
Withing 3 days this was then processed & the passports plus vias's returned.
They have refused to return the £20 stating they have not received it though we now have proof the PO was cashed - it was made payable to the Kenyan High Commission, as per their instructions.
Can't help feeling it's all a scam & wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
