Hotel area

Hello, I'm going to be staying a friend in Nairobi for 4 nights mid September and was wondering which area of the city was the best area to look for hotels. We are mid 30's and will want to go for a nice meals and a few drinks in the evenings. We are looking for a hotel with a swimming pool, about $100 a night.... is this possible?

Can't advise re hotels for $100/nt, but do strongly advise that if going out after dark - always take a taxi to/from wherever you go. No walking about regardless the area.

Miti Mingi Guest House in Westlands is under $100 and includes breakfast. And the Westlands area is lively and reasonably safe. It's a five-minute cab ride into the centre of Westlands from MM - a trip that will cost about $5.

Have a good time!

Agree, go to Westlands. Plenty of bars & restaurants to choose from.

Maybe you should try the Hilton in the heart of Nairobi City. It costs USD 100 per person or less and it has an inhouse bar and restaurant, also close to the hotel there are more clubs.
