Kichwa Tembo -how to package the rest of my trip

Hi

From reading reviews I know I would we would like to stay at Kichwa Temba camp.

But does anyone have any recommendations on how I would package this with the rest of the trip - can anyone recommend any good companies that sell this camp as part of a tour?

Or is it feasable for me to package it all myself?

We are thinking of also going to a couple of other parks / reserves and maybe zanzibar

thanks

Any reputable tour operator or in-country outfitter can book Kichwa Tembo. Write to a few companies (4-5) with the same info - when visiting, how many total days in-country, parks of interest, game of interest, whether want to drive or fly (though for longer segments it's best to fly) and then conclude on ZNZ which will have to be flight from Kenya.

There are a number of reputable companies mentioned here on TA or you can check www.kato.com for a list.

If ZNZ rather than the Kenyan coast, you'll require another Visa on arrival and Yellow Fever inoc and proof of same for entry.

Have you considered Lamu instead of Zanzibar. Lamu is like what Zanzibar used to be. Then you won't need a Visa for Tanz. It worked out cheaper for us to go to Lamu.

Google Eastern and Southern Safaris. They are an established Nairobi company. We used them for our trip in Sept 2009 and it was an excellent trip. We did the Samburu and Maasai Mara fly safari, and we stayed at Kichwa Tembo and Samburu Intrepids. The E & S web site gives lots of options with prices. I put a trip report on here if you want to look it up and read it.

There is also a Zanzibar trip report.

Good luck,

Jim
