Joan - Tumaini

Hi All,

Arrived home this morning after 2 weeks at Whitesands. As everyone else says - things are peaceful in Kenya now and it is quite safe to travel.

Saw Joan for an hour or so yesterday morning just before we left the hotel - she still looks tired and should rest but as you all know she doesn't know what rest means!!

She says she won't get any visitors now until July so if any one is going out to Mombasa sooner than that Joan would be delighted to see you.

Hi. Glad you had a good time. Bumped into you the day you arrived and we were leaving. In fact you had my 3 sons room, small world. Had a text to say a friend is going for June and July to see Joan. Thanks for taking the last few bits along the beach for us. I hear the hotel got busier after we left/

Hi Danielle,

We were pleased to have met you - even if it was only for a couple of minutes. We don't normally have the room we had this time - we usually have one the other side of Coco's bar.

If you are a regular visitor to Whitesands it is possible we may meet up again.

Whitesands was much busier when we left - 90% full with conferences theday we left according to Julius who is in charge of Reception.

Thanks for that drakesdrum.

I hadn't thought about fruit, we thought pencils & stationary type things + footballs, hubby's boss has pledged to give us some money for the orphanage.

Joan sounds like a remarkable lady.

Money issues for the homes is a big concern in Mombasa ...

unles your 100% sure that the matron - manager in charge is totally honest and will spend your donation for the welfare of the children .. dont leave money !!!!!!

Joans Tumaini..... 100%

Irene or Jane ....lioness cubs.... 100%.

The Kikambala childrens home 100%

Diani Childrens Village....100%

Otherwise take foodstuffs- Milk - cleaning items ...soap powder soap disinfectants...these are very expensive to come out of a meagre budget...
