Scam Man at Voyager

Just thought I would let you know that HE is still around. Before we left we read about a man who posed as a cook at the voyager, approached people outside the hotel and offered to take them to his village where they were then scammed out of large sums of money to "help" local kids.

A couple we met were approached by a man who said he recognised them from the Voyager, and were they enjoying the food he had been preparing....not likely, they had only arrived that morning.

Next day we went for a walk to Nakumat, were approached by a really nice man, very well spoken, with his sons teacher, returning from a night shift as a security gaurd at the voyager. He offered to take us to his sons school, we said, sure we will meet you back at the Voyager tomorrow. Of course he did not want to be seen any where near the Voyager. They then walked to Nakumat with us, through the back entrance, we later noticed gaurds at the front. I must say that at no time did we feel threatened just annoyed and ended up buying some sweets for the "kids" just to get rid of them. When we left Nakumat the same guy was hanging around outside, you would have thought he would have been in a hurry to get home after a night shift.

We later reported it to Voyager, they are aware of him but havent been able to catch him. So beware, this guy is really persuasive and people have had some upsetting experiences as he takes you to areas with terrible poverty to get you to part with your cash.
