Best time of yr & safari out of Mombasa or Nairobi?

We are planning a trip for 2014 & doing it on tight budget, so wondering what it the best months/weather to go to either Nairobi or Mombasa? We are wanting to do a safari & don't know if it is best to go out of Nairobi or Mombasa (budget wise) & where is the best areas for us to visit, seeing the most in a safari.

If you are working on a tight budget, I think traveling during the low season will suit you. The months of January to June is great, the weather is warm. You can start your safari from Nairobi, head to Amboseli, then Tsavo East & west and head down to Mombasa. This time the rate for different accommodation facilities is low.

As said earlier by Jesaro you can be picked from Nairobi, head to Amboseli, later Tsavo East/West then to Mombasa. I can also advise you on Maasai Mara a very nice place to visit this season. It's alot of fun and not that expensive.
