hi virginia,

standard rooms have 2 single beds or 1 double, basic aircon units that can have a tendancy to rattle and be on the noisy side, although they will fix it straight away or replace it so its not a problem.

superior rooms have 2 double beds, t.v,fridge, hairdryers, tea making facilities,up to date aircon units which are also remote control and alot quieter than the standard ones.the balconies are larger and have a settee type seat on it aswell as the usual 2 chairs and a little table.

some of the superior rooms you can see the sea from,so rather than paying the extra for a superior sea veiw room ask for one on the far end of the block.

we have stayed in a standard and superior rooms, the standard are very basic but we found the superior more roomy as we have a 12 year old son too.

hope this is of some help to you.

Happy hols.

2. Re: Voyager- difference between standard and superior rooms?

Hopefully someone will be able to clarify this.According to the First Choice brochure all standard rooms have air-con,satellite TV,hairdryer, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and balcony. The superior rooms are larger have the same facilities but also have a fridge. Is this the case as the reply to Virginia's post does not mention any of the above.

Can anyone who has stayed here recently advise please?

hi,just to set it straight, the standard rooms have no extra's.NO tv,No fridge,No tea making facilities,No hairdryer. they are very basic but sufficient enough.( you can pay for these to be put in the room but its expensive)

we asked about a fridge being put into a standard room but it would have cost almost £90 for 2 weeks!!

superior rooms have tv,hairdryer, tea making stuff and fridge, the rooms are much larger and more up to date.

ALL rooms have aircon, the standard rooms have older aircon units but are good enough.

superior rooms have more up to date, remote control aircon.

if you have any more questions i will be happy to answer if i can.

i forgot to add that all rooms have a safe, you just have to pay a deposit and a daily charge for one.

all rooms have a balcony too.

it is worth paying the extra for a superior room(thats my opinion anyway)

We were at the Voyager over Xmas and New Year. A superior seaview room (as booked) was not available the first night so we had a standard garden room. It had aircon with remote control, 2 single 2ft 6in beds apart from each other and not much else. After a lot of fuss we were moved the next day.

What we got, claiming to be a superior seaview room was the same size room, with 2 single 3ft beds pushed together, aircon with remote control, , tea-making set, and TV. We had a battle royal over 24 hours to get a fridge! Hairdryers are apparently available from reception on a 2500?- deposit in any type of room.

What they appeared to do if they are overbooked on superior rooms is to put all the extra bells and whistles in a standard room.

While the location was good overlooking the relax pool it was not what we had paid for.

mozzie nets over beds are also in superior rooms ....MaryLou, sounds like you were definatley put in to a jazzed up standard room, have you written to your tour operator to try and get the differance back that you paid.......the superior sea view we had was massive. Two double beds and an area lwith a large coffee table and two chairs, we also had a hairdryer which as actually wired direct into the wall

Yes I have spoken to the tour operator. The dialogue is ongoing!! I dont believe that we are the only people this happened to. On our first day we spoke to three couples the first lunchtime and found all had been moved to different rooms that day. As we had had a week of moving around on safari the last thing we wanted was to have to change rooms again.

Hi, I have booked two superior rooms with interconnecting door. Has anyone stayed in these? They are supposed to have all the extras as well?

Thanks
