Who has been to Everest Base Camp from Lhasa??

We have three weeks between Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Tibet and from what I can tell to go to Everest Base Camp will require 3 days in Lhasa and then 5 days to EBC and back. Is it worth it for what seems like it will be five days mostly spent driving in a landcruiser? Or do I have the wrong impression? We're young, fit, and good at big days, but will we be left with too little time for the rest, ie is it worth sacrificing so much time in our limited schedule? Help! :)

At first, you should have three permits. If you visit Tibet, you should apply for a permit. Then when you in Lhasa, you also need a frontier pass, taking you two days to get it. In addition, if you want to go to Qomolangma, you still lack one permit.

Generally speaking, a trip to Everest Base Camp from Lhasa takes you 8-10 days tour.
