Taxi from airport

I arrive Beijing airport at 5am. If I take a taxi from airport to hotel in Wangfujian will the fares be double or I wait till 6am. What time subway train operates in the morning. Is there any 24 hrs cafe or restaurants near airport?

thank you

Day time fare starts at 5am.

Night time fare, which starts at 11pm, is about 20% more. So not double.

In September this year I took a taxi from Beijing Capital Airport to my hotel in the heart of the city (2mins walk from the Forbidden City) at just after 5am. For two of us and our luggage, door to door, it cost 280 yuan - just over 30 GBP. I didn't consider that an extortionate price bearing in mind that even at that time of day there was a lot of traffic and the journey took around 35 mins,

Without any traffic jams, that route is about 30 mins. Taxis charge 2,3 RMB per 5 mins waiting time. Normal costs for this is a bit over 100RMB. So at night about 120RMB.

Did you use official taxi line, and did taxi use the meter. 280RMB is far too high for Beijing.

#2 That is very expensive. Sounds like a tout price or they didnt use the meter.

OP: Using the official taxi line it will cost Y100 - 120 tops.

The Airport Express to connect to the subway - first train at 6.20am Terminal 3 or 6.35 Terminal 2.

For 24 hour cafes and restaurants look on the Capital Airport website....

Agree with the above:

Don't get in a taxi without a meter and stay in the official taxi queues.
