Enforcement of Extra Person Living in 5 Star Hotels?

Anyone know how strictly does 5 star hotels enforce their 2/3 person limit in their standard hotel rooms. We have one extra person whom we would rather not get another room for during our short stay.

thanks,

John

I guess that will differ per hotel. First of all policies might differ, and secondly too many people on an hotel room might be considered a safety hazard.

All foreigners have to registered anyway, so having an extra person on your room without registration is violating the law.

So check up front with different hotels. Maybe some are willing yo put an extra bed on the room, if the room is big enough. They will charge some extra, but less then a separate room.

If you are thinking about sneaking an extra person into the room then forget about it, the maids will know how many people are staying in the room and you would get into very serious trouble, instead check out hotel rooms for 4 people the price difference won't be that different.

check out these fare comparison websites where you can put in the number pf people per room.

Unless breakfast is included, the price of the room does not vary due to the number of persons. It is just an issue of bed configuration. So do you want one person to sleep on the floor? Just get room that can sleep your group.

I think 5* enforce pretty strictly and they WILL know. If they have any doubts, they'll just look at security camera footage and see your extra person going in for the night and not coming out. Chinese govt regulations normally stipulate maximum of 3 people in a standard room and it is followed. And there is the police registration issue.

If money is a problem and you don't want to pay for an extra room at the 5*, then go downmarket and get two rooms at a 3*. Or find a hotel that has a suite/apartment type set up that can legally accommodate everybody.

for locals that is only a policy violation. For foreigners it is a violation of the law (visa conditions), since you have to register with the local authorities where you stay. When staying in an hotel, they will take care of that.

If an hotel allows unregistered guests to stay there, they will get problems, so they will never accept that.

In my opinion,If your room is big enough to hold extra bed, you can demand staff to put an extra bed on your room. The hotel will charge some extra fee.The person is demanded register.
