Seeing the attractions in and around Beijing

two of us (over 60yrs) staying in Beijing for 4 full days wanting to visit the Summer palace, Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall etc. The question I ask, is the best way to hire a driver for all these sites/exhibitions? If so, can we organise thru our Hotel or is other arrangements better? What is a average fair price per day to pay for a driver?

You onl need a driver to the Great Wall - 500-600Rmb. For other places, just take the subway.

First day, take subway or bus to visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heven. The second day, you can also take a bus to Badaling Great Wall or Mutian Yu Great Wall. Then one your way back to downtown you can have a look at the National Stadium. The third day, visit the Summer Palace and hutongs. There are many night show in Beijing. I recommend you to see the Kung Fu Show in Red theatre. That's fantastic show.
