airport transfer to Kowloon

We will be arriving in Hong Kong on Feb. 12 at 8:30 in the evening. What is the best way to get to the Kowloon Shangra-La Hotel on 64 Mody Road Tsim Sha Tsui East Kowloon?

THANKS

Welcome to Tripadvisor and the HK Forums! :)

What are you referring to when you mean 'the best way'?

If you're after a budget option, then, public bus #A21: www.nwstbus.com.hk/routes/routeinfo.aspx… will be the best option as mentioned above. From the Airport to your hotel, get off at stop #16 and make your way to the hotel, and on the return back to the Airport, get on at stop #3 'Mody Road, Chatham Road South - Chatham Road South before Mody Road'.

You could also take the Airport Express MTR to Kowloon Station. If you're travelling in a group of 2, 3 or 4, make sure to purchase the special group ticket offer: mtr.com.hk/eng/…promotions_4persons.html as it'll be cheaper than purchasing individual tickets. From Kowloon Station, you can either take the free #K3 shuttle bus to your hotel: mtr.com.hk/eng/…complom_free_bus.html (keep in mind that you might not be dropped off first) or a taxi directly to your hotel.

You could also take a taxi direct from the Airport. This will be the "most expensive" option, but, certainly the most convenient and door-to-door option. Head for the official taxi stand outside of the Airport, and I recommend presenting this information card to the taxi driver: shangri-la.com/uploadedFiles/property/Hong_K… As not all taxi drivers speak fluent English, it'll just make it easier for you. Don't forget to add an extra $5.00HKD per piece of large luggage to your total taxi fare. Please note that taxi fares are generally only payable in HKD cash.

The hotel also offers limo pick-up, but, of course, that would come with quite a hefty price tag. Similarly, you can also take a coach/bus to your hotel, but, this is quite an expensive option per person (it'll be much better instead to just use a taxi or other options) and you won't necessarily be dropped off first either.

Good luck with your planning and have a GREAT time in HK! :)
