Passport validity

May I know how long should a Singapore passport be valid for travel to HK? I will arrive in HK in end Dec & my passport expires in mid Jul 13.

Usually they require six months, I don't think it is any different for Singapore passports.

Your passport needs to be valid for a period of at least one month beyond your intended period of stay in HK. This applies to all nationalities;

ST above is right. I was basing my answer on the fact that my daughter had issues entering HK as her passport was less than 6 months but that was 5 years ago.

Not correct. The Hong Kong Immigraton Dept passport validity requirement is ONE month beyond intended period of stay (except for stateless persons)

The 6 month rule applies to many foreign countries but the 1 month rule has been in place here in HK for some time now.

Absolute wrong. This is not the case for HK, or most other countries outside of SE Asia.

Immigration rule is such. However, I as explained by airline desk that they require 6 months validity on most passports because your intended stay can change right? So they tend to ask your passport to have at least 6 months validity. Not sure if this is a strict rule, or was a suggested advice.
