Toy shopping in hong kong

Hi, any advice on affordable toy shopping in hong kong markets, was thinking temple street or ladies market. Is it worth the effort or should i just stick to toy shops. Looking for older brands like monsuno, power rangers, even lego. Any help?

>> temple street or ladies market.

Factory rejects, overruns, knock-offs... etc, who knows. Maybe they have been rejected because they don't meet safety standards of the intended market. If it's for a toy collector or old enough kid, I guess it's OK.

Try Tai Yuen Street (Toy Street) in Wan Chai for classic toys;

There is a mutli-stories Japanese toy building on Wan Chai Road, between Wanchai and Causeway bay, Anime and Japanese collectible toys. Packed with young men.

I think it is highly unlikely you will find those toys in Temple Street or Ladies Market.

I can think of some other "toys" you can find on Temple Street (wink wink).

Not sure if this is something that fits your category (or possible something to broaden your horizons), but I was looking into something similiar for toy shopping and came across the below links. Rather interesting/useful to get a sense of 'toy' shopping outside the typical department store,etc.

Hope this may peak some interests for you!

Excellent link with so many toy centers in HK, perfect answers. I always love to visit toy stores in every country, few and difficult to find. I will make a point to see some of them. Shopping is difficult for men, there is just nothing really interesting for men to buy. Thank you.

Toys you buy in the market are usually ones that never passed any safety test so they are buyer-beware.

I suggest you start shopping at Toys R Us first. Whatever they don't have, then go to Universal Models. UML is a good store with a good selection and offers a pleasant experience. Then if they don't have the items you want, then you can start digging based on the links provided by Rotating Globe.
