Scenic buses to and from Stanley, and bus to V.peak

Pls. Help... I had a crash on my computer & I'm trying to remember 2 very good tips:

1. Take different buses to and from Stanley market, to get the most of the scenic routes.

2. Take a bus to Victoria peak (51?) and get down with the tram to avoid the lines.

Many thanks, since all my notes are gone.... Daniela

Hi Daniela:

>> 1. Take different buses to and from Stanley market, to get the most of the scenic routes. <<

The most scenic one is bus 6. It goes through the old Wong Lai Chung Gap Road instead of through Aberdeen Tunnel. The road is windy and sharp. Be ready for the thrill. Sit on the upperdeck. It starts from Central (Exchange Square) but you can also board it at Admiralty MTR Station Exit C1.

That's bus 15. It also starts at Central (Pier 5), ends at The Peak. You can also board it mid-route at Admiralty MTR Station Exit C1.

You could take bus 6 to Stanley, then bus 14 when you leave. Bus 14 goes to Sai Wan Ho on Eastern HK Island, passing over the Tai Tam reservoir dam and is also very scenic. You can then continue your trip on the MTR once you reach Sai Wan Ho.

Getting down could have a long tram line too.

Just to mention that there is a Bus-Bus interchange concession scheme in place between bus no. 6 and 15 if paying by Octopus Card.

If you go from Victoria Peak to Stanley, take bus no. 15 at HK$9.80 to the stop at Bowen Road/Stubbs Road, get off and walk back to cross the roundabout to the stop at Wong Nai Chung Gap Road/Tai Hang Road where you can change to bus no. 6 for FREE when paying by the same Octopus card. You still have to touch in using the Octopus Card on bus no. 6 but the display will then show "Adult Fare $0.00".

If you go from Stanley to Victoria Peak, take bus no. 6 at HK$7.90 to the stop at Bowen Rpad/Stubbs Road, get off and walk back up - double-back on yourself to the stop at the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital where you can change to bus no. 15 at a discounted fare of HK$1.90 (instead of the full fare of HK$9.80) when paying using the same Octopus Card.

You may want to bear this in mind when planning to visit Stanley and Victoria Peak on the same day
