question about shopping in kowloon

Hi ,

me and my wife will visit HongKong on 22th Dec. we will stay there for 3 days. our point of visiting HK is only for buying clothes. we want to know where we can shop for reasonable price. we 're looking for good quality and affordable price.

However, is $30k HKD is enough for shopping and eating over there ?

very difficult to answer your question .

$30k HKD is enough for a lot of people to shopping and eating.

if you does not quantify and zoom in into the interest. then there is no answer.

This amount is or may not enough for certain group of people.

a room may be charged from 3k to 5k per night.

a champagne lunch may cost 0.5k per person, dinner ......

a drink at Lan Kwai Fong will cost around 1k.

the above is exclude shopping.

a good camera cost 10k & above , a good watch ........

Hello Aboody B

Welcome to the Hong Kong forum.

Unfortunately with Hong Kong being one of the more expensive destinations you can visit, you are not going to find much to buy for HK$30 these days. This will buy you a bowl of wonton at some noodle shops but not all. Even McDonalds (value) meals are HK$28-35 now.

You can probably buy a some odd individual clothing pieces in this price range in the street markets. Try Fai Yuen and the Ladies (night) market in Mongkok. You might be able to pick up a few cheap clothing items there. However, the I don't think you will find anything at all in the shopping centres or malls at that price.

Brad OP is going to spend 30K HKD, not $30 HKD, big difference.

OP if you eat average food and buy non-designer clothes, 30K HKD should be a very good budget.

The sky is the limit. Whether $30K is enough depends on your spending habits. You will find things (fashion or meals) priced from <$100 to up to thousands of dollars.
