Happy Valley

We will be visiting Hong Kong for a week and would like to take the tram on the Wed eve to Happy Valley. I notice that the entrance fee is 10hk but have read on some posts about people gaining access with their UK passport or using their Octopus travel pass. Is there any benefit in doing this please?

I don't know about anybody getting in on a UK passport. Use of the Octopus card is a convenient way to pay the 10 bucks, but doesn't bring any discount.

HK$10 gets you into the public enclosure. Passport allows you to purchase a Tourist Badge to access other areas;

Expect busy trams and heavier traffic. Plan your journey accordingly.

if you are planning on getting a cab back after the races, leave before the final race. It can be a zoo when everybody leaves
