Lhasa from Beijing

I am moving out to Beijing in February, and will have two weeks off work in June where i'd love to go to Tibet. It seems like quite a hassle to arrange the journey, especially if i am going alone. Can anyone tell me the best and cheapest places in Beijing to speak to someone about a tour or book one. Also what length of time is best to go? I've seen 4 day Lhasa tours and the expanded 10 day tours that include Everest etc.How likely is it to be granted visas in June? I heard there was a period where they only let in nationals and not foreigners? I'm sorry this topic has probably been covered extensively in this forum already!

June is the season that the authority is not too fussy with issuing the travel permit to foreigners. but better to start it earlier.

March is the always closing time. Jun is fairly good as it's getting pretty warm and not involved in the holiday costy time Jul-Aug. The 10 day tour is more worth it but expensive if organised for you solo, better to join a tour.

Regarding tour operator. I think most online tours with English service should be able to arrange a tour of Tibet which is just one of the provinces of China.
