Ubud to Sanur; suggestions for an interesting journey.

We are heading to Ubud for 2 days during our stay, and we are planning to leave Ubud in the arly pm (around 1pm) heading back to Sanur. If we assume that we take the quickest way there on the way, could anyone suggest an interesting route back, especially if it takes in a waterfall/lake/cliffs etc.

Cheers

Bill

You could also visit some of the villages surrounding Ubud like Celuk (silver smiths) or Mas (woodcarving)

How long would it take for the journey rock has described? Rough idea of driver cost?

You wouldn't be able to do all the things RT has listed in an afternoon. But you could pick and choose some of them. The bird park and reptile park would probably be an afternoon on its own.

For Drivers work on about 50,000 an hour, maybe a bit more if it isn't a return trip to where you started.

Hmmm... What I am looking for is a stop at a beauty spot, as I say, a waterfall will be brilliant. Then some smaller villages and perhaps a very small local place for lunch.

Again, any help is always appreciated

From Ubud you can head to Gianyar Water fall (30" from central Ubud). And you also can visit Balinese Traditional House at Penglipuran Gianyar. If you're not interested in Shopping, just skip celuk, mas, and sukawati art market. For Lunch, I suggest to have it in Ubud before you depart as there is no any recommended restaurant along the way.

If you decide to visit Goa Gajah there's a restaurant on Jl Raya Gajah called Tepi Sawah. Friendly staff & nice meals. 214.020IDR for 3 main courses, 2 milkshakes, iced tea & Bali coffee.
